CB Princess Bermuda & Caribbean Cruise 2008 Favorites : August 6-15, 2008: Our Caribbean cruise was during the peak of hurricane season, but fair weather smiled on us the entire time and Mui was able to get in plenty of snorkeling as planned. Our itinerary on Caribbean Princess was as follows: Brooklyn, NY; At Sea; West End, Bermuda; At Sea; San Juan, Puerto Rico; St Thomas, US Virgin Islands; Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Islands; two days At Sea; Brooklyn, NY. Before we embarked the ship on August 6, we spent a few hours at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

Favorites Ruins & Memorials Turkey 2008 : This is a collection of "some" favorite photos from my May 2008 visit to Turkey that included sightseeing in and around İzmir and a side trip to the Gelibolu (Gallipoli) Peninsula to visit the monuments and memorials of the World War I Gallipoli Campaign. During the side trip, we toured other interesting places as well - some I had been to before (such as Ayvalık); others were new to me (such as Assos/Behramkale). Our voyage started in Ushuaia, Argentina and included visits to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia island, and the region around the Antarctic Peninsula. A big male not far from the TBL shows us how you prepare for a nap.

The male that has mum seeking safety for her cubs elsewhere takes a last look at them before he moves on.

Prion Island, South Georgia: "Portrait of a Wanderer"

One of the cubs returns to where mum is napping, but this one's not quite ready to join them.

Sure enough; there's one half of the pair we've been tracking since this morning.

Don't be fooled by the teddy-bear look; this is an adult bear. If the snow continues at the current pace, it will have a snow blanket in no time.

Mum raised herself up so suddenly that it's a miracle I even got this photograph. I got to tell you, I've never flipped a camera from landscape to portrait so fast.

Is this love fest ever going to end!

It sure looks like the one bear is giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to the other, but actually he is trying to prod him back into action.
